North Carolina Piedmont Art Quilt Guild in Concord, North Carolina offers college level art, design, drawing, life studies and computer aided drawing lessons, like the one used by Robbi Eklow to produce Free Expressions, to our members. Our mission is to produce a creative environment to learn art and design for art quilting at reasonable rates and to further the profusion of good art and design in fiber art.
At four monthly meetings a year a Master degree art instructor will lecture for three hours on art and design principles The remaining monthly meetings will be lectures on art quilt techniques and workshops so members have an exposure to art quilt styles from which to develop their own art quilt style. All of this education and training is made available for $45 dues every 2 months. Quite the deal when you consider art school at $40,000 and without the art quilt techniques training.
At every meeting there is the opportunity to purchase quality cloth and thread due to our bulk purchasing and cloth dyeing and extending the savings to the member. We also provide a dyeing station where you can go and dye your own cloth after learning how to at the guild.
The North Carolina Piedmont Art Quilt Guild is member of Studio Artists Quilting Association (SAQA), and a sponsor of the International Surface Design Association. We are a chapter member of the National Quilting Association.(NQA)
