North Carolina Piedmont Art Quilt Guild meets in Concord, North Carolina.  It was established in October 2009, as an alternative to a traditional quilt guild.

This guild offers college level art, design, and life drawings courses throughout the year. Also there are lessons for computer aided designing given to our members, like the one used by Robbi Eklow to produce Free Expressions.

Our Mission is to teach an extensive array of art quilt techniques and quilt embellishments; to provide a creative environment to learn art and design at reasonable rates;thus, furthering the profusion of good art and design in fiber art. This will give women and men an opportunity to make real money for their talents.
Those individuals who make artistically correct art quilts for wall hangings that appeal to the public can earn from as little as $2500 dollars to $135,000 dollars for one art quilt. The North Carolina Piedmont Art Quilt Guild is networked with an art gallery for the purpose of selling art work.

Guild Meetings:

At four monthly meetings a year, a Master degree art instructor will lecture for three hours on art and design principles. This is the core information that separates the traditional guild from an art quilt guild.  The remaining monthly meetings will be lectures and training on art quilt techniques, fabric dyeing, discharging, needle felting and other embellishment workshops. These workshops are at no additional charge to the member. Members having this exposure to all of the art quilt styles will develop their own art style.

All of this education and training is made available for a nominal fee every two months. It's quite a deal when you consider art school costs $40,000, with no sewing classes and without the art quilt techniques training.

At every meeting there is the opportunity to purchase quality cloth and thread due to our bulk purchasing and cloth dyeing and extending the savings to the members. We also provide a dyeing station where you can dye your own cloth after learning how to at this guild.

The North Carolina Piedmont Art Quilt Guild is a sponsor of  Studio Artists Quilting Association (SAQA), and a sponsor of the  Surface Design Association.  We are a chapter member of the National Quilting Association.(NQA)
