Arashi Shibori kimono wallhanging

komono wall hangings utilizing arashi shibori

One of the beautiful ways to use arashi shibori dyed silk is to iron the completed piece flat and use it to make different parts of a Japanese kimono. ( front side only) Mix up the dye colored pieces and make a color complemented or coordinated kimono. You will then adhesive adhere it to a black cotton fine grade background rectantangle and using wash away pen draw your free motion stitching options to fill the back.
